Well, quite astonishing. Nicol allowed Farnboro' to take an early lead, with his error leading to the opening goal. Then, again sloppy play allowed a Farnboro' player score from distance and leave the Rovers with a mountain to climb. This mountain was made bigger with the sending off of Dave Penney in the 37th minute, for alledgedly using his elbow/arm in an arial challenge. The half time whistle went and the Rovers were in bother. The players returned for the second half and the Rovers were straight away on the attack, with Hume having a chance saved. Followed by several bombardments from corners which we at times did well not to hit the target. Farnboro' continued to have little half chances and we were lucky not to go 3-0 down when Southall's lack of fitness was exposed but the Farnboro' player drove into the side netting. We continued to attack but we missed a host of chances consisting of bobbling balls which were blasted over or wide. Colin Sutherland drove a fantastic shot just wide near the end. With time up, Sutherland rose to head home a consoloation goal. The Rovers still had another chance to level it in stoppage time but the chance was smashed over.
